This Hitchi's terminals don't match what I have seen posted , will it work in place of the 10SI?
The 2 posts are marked E and A and the plug- in spades are marked F and N.
Thanks.

Best I can tell, F is "field" terminal and N is "stator" terminal. A appears to be the Battery terminal...what some Asian service manuals call the "B+" [battery positive] terminal. Not sure what E might be, except maybe ground ["Earth"-??].

The early Hitachi alternators were externally regulated. I think this is in need of a regulator to plug into the connector. The model Number or source application will tell you for sure. The S-L alternators cannot be interchanged with F-N. Jim

Looks to me like a 4 post, externally regulated. A is the BAT stud for the primary. E would be Earth (ground). F would be for the field and N is perhaps an indicator. Not really sure on that one...
I am fairly sure you need an external reg.
