Bought some more John Deere Implements Today! (PICS)

Saw an ad on craigslist for a John Deere manure spreader this afternoon and called the guy to talk with him about it. Being that he was close to where I live I went over right away. The manure spreader is a John Deere Model H Series 47. I also saw some other old equipment at his place and inquired if any of the other things were for sale as well. He told me that he had a John Deere Model 1250 Planter that he would be willing to sell. He said that the planter works well. He also had a John Deere 594 Hay rake.

So, we negotiated a deal.

The John Deere Model H Series 47 Manure spreader was $150

The John Deere 1250 Six-Row Planter was $75 and that includes extra seed hoppers, a bucket of plates and a manual.

The John Deere 594 Hay rake was $100 and that will include a manual and extra teeth.

Total for everything was $325, money well spent on some good looking implements.

I still need to pick it all up, but that will have to wait until I can find the time. Also the Planter will be used one last time for this season before I can go to get it.

Enjoy the Pictures!

LOTS of memories there!

I'll pitched more "stuff" into a spreader just like than one than I care to think about, but have GOOD memories about it 'cause that was time spent with my Dad!

Not bad at all. And if you decide to move on into politics as DeltaRed pointed out one top implement had more than one classification. It'd surely come in handy as a political platform to campaign out front or your voters.

You are either "unmarried" , "single living at home" ," won the lotto" , "work on the family farm and this is only hobby" or "all the above". More power to ya , though , you can probably sense the envy out here whenever you post. Don't get me wrong , I call them "investments" also , but some or all the above conditions would have to exist for me to invest to that extent. Keep on saving them. RB

Andrew,

I like what you are doing, and I am sure the rest will agree with me, we are pleased that you post the pics, and the prices you pay for each item, it is all good to know.

Good stuff. I bought a used spreader like that and it was much better than a different one that I bought new.
