Leland hydraulics

Service manager sent me out today to look at this Leland 270. Customer complaint was that the three point wouldn"t work. "Oh, by the way; last fall I tried it on my trailer plows, and it wouldn"t lift them with the remote either."
Last summer he SAYS the three point worked OK until he broke a shift fork and it went to someone"s shop to get that fixed. Came back with no three point. Confusing stories; doncha love it!!
I got there this morning, and the lift was up a little; at least it settled when I moved the main lever. Post hole auger was mounted. I could not get it to raise at all. I read the operator"s manual and I can"t see that I was doing anything wrong. No pressure at the remote couplers.I didn"t check an open hose to see if there was any flow at all. The PTO was engaged all through this.
Is there any way to test just the pump? I tried to follow the instructions about linkage adjustment, but when I got to the part about adjusting the pin until it raised up all the way, I knew I had reached a dead end.
I advised the customer to check on availablity of parts, and get gaskets and seals coming to allow me to pull the hydraulic unit with the pump and disassemble it for inspection. Does anyone have any other ideas?? I want to look at the suction screen and probably disassemble the pump to check for wear.

These tractors are fun to work on when you have hydraulic problems. I just test the hyd. pressure with a gauge by the remotes. There is early and later hydraulic system/ P.T.O. For parts there is guy who sells parts in North America not sure if he is still doing it yet last time I talked to him he had some health issues. For gaskets just use silicone and o-rings you can match up. If the hydraulic pump is bad there is an up grade/aftermarket pump available. If you have the later style system witch is a three lever make sure you know how it works many people don't understand the whole Aux. lever. Check to make sure on the piston for the rock shaft doesn’t have broken rings. You can adjust the hydraulic pressure if it is low but there is directions on how to do it right and safe too. If you have the later style system there is the filter on the left side facing the back there is a poppet on top of that filter make sure it is not broken. The hard plastic pieces make there way into the valve body inside the housing. Most of the time it is adjustment you need to do to fix the three point problem. Sounds like you have the same problem I had on the last one I did to many people tried to fix before I got to it. There is a suction screen in front of the hydraulic pump make sure it is in good shape these filters you just clean. If you end up replacing the hydraulic pump with the newer style they give you a suction filter with the kit. Make sure the oil is clean and filters are changed too. If you need filter numbers I can get you them. If you need some help just get in touch with me on here.

This is where you can get the aftermarket hydraulic pump kit. Fawcett Tractor Supply Ltd. Phone number (519) - 284-2379 they are in Canada. Here is the part number you need to order ATJ6597. This is a hyd. pump kit it is cheaper to buy that pump then replacing the original on or trying to fix it most of the time it ends up being a waste of time fixing the old one.
