Some time back ,a post from Kentucky gave the name of an electric fence tester , It showed the direction of the fault ie, left or right of the check point, Anyone like to give me the name of the tester and where it can be bought Thanks.

Zareba perhaps?

A friend of mine has the one shown in the middle and it seems to work GREAT for. A couple of other buddies who are too cheap to buy their own borrow it from time to time.

My involvement is that my shop seems to often be the drop-off point between borrowers!

My son gave me this one for Father's Day, and it works like a champ. Being a skinflint, I would have never bought it myself, but if I lose or break mine, I'll buy another one to replace it. It's just too handy to be without. It's saved me MILES of walking. When you pass the short, the arrow sends you back to it.

There is a wire with a ground probe that's necessary for the short finder to work. Comes with it, I think. The volt meter does not need the probe wire to work, but it's more accurate with it.

Our local farm stores sell them.
