May have a fellow lined up to haul my 800 to the inlaws in NEast OH.

What type of paperwork, like a bill-of-lading do you guys usually use? I don't know this fellow so I want to make sure I'm covered.

Thanks.

best of my knowledge, if he goes thru/get stop at port, or hi-way ptrl stops him, they check to make sure tractor isn't stolen, have some kind bill of sale with serial numbers, even a picture of tractor with bill of sale. here a bol i use. [free of charge, cross colo out] lol. write in your state.

The MOST I have ever had is a typed notarized bill of sale. Usually, if its a good day a hand written receipt or invoice, or maybe a sales slip from an auction house. Unless Im crossing national borders or something thats always been good enough.

ky: i agree, no debate from me. just shooting ideas out with todays problems, scrappers, thiefs, any proof is better than none if stopped.

This works for me.
Type or hand write on paper:

"I (Hauler) received from (Seller) the following tractor (I.D. and Serial #) on (Date) at (Time) for delivery to (Buyer)."

Hauler__________________

Seller__________________

I (buyer) received from (hauler) the tractor identified above on (Date) at (Time).

Hauler___________________

Buyer____________________

Seller faxes a signed copy to the buyer when tractor is picked up for delivery and the Buyer faxes a signed copy to the Seller when it is delivered.

Scan a picture of the tractor on the bottom of this piece of paper. Money part usually was taken care of between the seller and buyer before being loaded on the trailor.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not selling it just moving it but I think the paperwork is good for insurance reasons.
