Are Daewoo skid steer loaders any good? Looking at model DSL 601. What are there weak points? Are parts available & comparitively priced? Easy to work on? Thanks
 
Local logging equipment guy sells Daewoo stuff, says they're great, and he's sold all kinds of stuff for 40 years- but then again, he is the dealer. . .
 
I bought a Daewoo forklift several years ago. I was looking for a used forklift and bought a new Daewoo for the price of a good used one of another brand. It was the best piece of equipment that I ever owned. I sold my business 5 years ago and the guy that bought it, who doesn't maintain it properly, told me last week that he had never done anything to it and it still runs like a top.
 
pallet plant by me has two Daewoo fork lifts and i have to fix them if they brake down and that is just about never one has 10000+ and the other 15,000+ hours one has a Cummings and the other a Daewoo engine. Daewoo sold out to Doosun and he just got a new one also real nice machine
 
Last dealer I worked at sold them. They claimed that they designed the skid steer with JD and then could not get the marketing agreement worked out. There must be some truth to it as several of the employees at the Dubuque plant claim they cut up several green and yellow one for scrap.

As for your 601 it is the littler one we stocked. It has a SAE rated capacity of 1300 lbs. I like the 1760 more as it seemed to be balanced better. New the 1760 was only a few thousand dollars more and had a SAE rating of 1700 lbs.
