Hahah, thats only the beginning... wait until they bring there 1300 truck loads of water, equipment, and then all the wonderful fracking chemicals... That, my friend, is only the beginning... you are in for one long haul

Good for them. That device behind the front wheels is a natural gas sniffer. Routine check for leaks before something goes KABLOOWIE!
In the big city they use units mounted on cheap pick-em-ups. Need those all terrain rigs to follow pipeline over the river & thru the woods.

The plate behind the rear wheels is what puts a vibration down into the ground. They run it for a few minutes and record what comes back at various locations. The time to come back and strength and amplitude tells what lies below. At least something like that.

I heard that of the tens of thousands of wells they've drilled and fracked over that past sixty years there was one that had a problem. So yea, watch out.

Show Crop's got it right. That's a seismic crew. They either set off explosives to make a shockwave, or these vibratory trucks, and they have long strings of microphones that look like orange extension cords strung along the ground. It's like echo sounding when ships are looking for submarines, but now they're looking to see what rock formations are underground. Very common in the oil and gas industry, although it is also done by universities or government just to do research on local geology. If it's industry, probably oil, maybe mining, depending on your location.

It must have been interesting to see them work.

Bye for now,

Troy

Those machines sure got the attention of your squrrel, looks like he frozen in place with intrest. LOL. Our town is in a big uproar over drilling also. Have a nice Sunday. The Acg.

Those pictures makes me wonder, if the goverment could use those trucks, to find the narcotics running tunnels between the US, and Mexican border!

Sizmo trucks. Came across my place several years ago. Strung wires on stakes all over the place. Then drove across the ground then stopped every so often and put that pad down. Vibrated a while then picked up then move to new spot and do it again.

Them big machines are just like the ones that came here last year. As you said, they are seismograth serveying. String out orange elec. line all over the place. When they got close to my house, lower the deck, turn it on. They shook the windows in my house. Looking for oil & gas.

Had a bunch of "em come thru here a few years back. Said they were just doing the surveying, that records would be archived in case someone ever wanted them sometime.

When the contract came in the mail, I tossed it aside, they had to go around my farm, not across it, since they didn"t have an agreement.

These guys were still using explosives, did alot of tramping over the farms around me.
