The manual on my Ford 6610 calls out to change hydraulic filters
every 300 hours. It has wet brakes. What are your opinions on
changing the fluid at the same time? It takes 10 gallons. I could filter
and use the oil on my H.
 
10g of generic utf oil that meets the ford spec M2c134d can be had for 60-70$ from tsc or walmart. for that $ I wouldn't even considder NOT changing it in that nice 6xxx machine.

Stay away from any hydraulic oil sold in yellow buckets.....bad stuff. I work for an oil blending company. Trust me, you don"t want that stuff no matter who made it.
 
Won't damage anything but your check book to change it that often, but what is recommended in your manual. Unless your working in unusually wet or dirty conditions, there is little reason th change hyd / trans oil that often. Many tractors spec 1000 hrs or more.
 
I thought the hydraulic filter change interval on a 10 was 600 hours. The engine is 300... I never change hydraulic filters more often than every 2-3 years unless the hours are very high OR a filter plugs and needs changing.
I seldom change oil either unless it takes on water. Seems to be enough blown hoses and other issues to precipitate fairly regular transfusions of new oil... so the only time it's actually changed is when something internal takes a dump and I need to chase a bunch of filings out of the system.
I use TDH, either from Canadian Tire or Walmart.

Most of my Fords see around 100 hours a year. I change the engine oil, engine oil filter, hydraulic filter, and fuel filter when I park them for winter. As to changing the fluid, if it gets water in it or some other contaminant Ill change it, otherwise every 4-5 years which on the low hour machines is 500 hours, the higher use ones its close to 1000. I've been using Hallmark brand in 55 gallon drums the past few years. Before that TSC or Conoco.
