Yep, CAT Demonstration Arena outside of Peoria, IL. Little perk for going to a transportation conference yestiday.
CAT CEO and Illinois govenor talked about the "state of the state" first thing yestiday morning.
More to come - arm hurts now!

I would love to see under the "hoods" of those machines. The company I work for machines cast iron and aluminum intake and exhaust components for some of those machines. Unfortunately we are a second tier supplier so we don't get to see much more than the parts/blueprints.
 
Im sure that 992K is much more operator friendly than the 992B loaders that I have the pleasure or maintaining and operating now! Even those old ones have no problem tossing around 60000lbs.
 
My Great-Grandpa drove a truck like that. It hauled I believe 100 or 1000 tons. it was a big change for him he said from growing up in the deppresion mining coal out of the hill in the back yard and then after military and C.C.C. moved on to underground mining for 40 yerars and move above ground the last 9 or 10 years
 
Where I worked we had a 80,000 lb. inside fork truck that was driven like a small pallet truck. It moved about 10,000,000 lbs an hour, yes that's right,10,000,000 lbs. Sorry, no pictures, they weren't allowed.
 
WABCO,made a mining truck that used a General
Motors 16V645, (V16-645 cubic inch per cylinder)
3000 horsepower, Locomotive engine.
 
I enjoyed looking at the pic. of the big machinery.They are big and can move lots of dirt and etc. I worked in Longview, Tx. for freight Co. for 25 yr. I went into Le Tourneau mfg. many, many times delivering & picking up freight. Then they were using the Detroit diesel engine. 2 of them was about A load for A pup trailer. They was big & heavy.
