tractor inspection..........

Took my tractor to the inspector Monday. Was so excited that it was fixed and clean with no oil leaks coolant loss etc that I forgot the simple stuff. 1st being, never go to inspection on Monday morning. Forgot to replace the rearview mirror and the reflectors on the rear fenders. Headlights worked but not the way the guy thought they should. Steering link had a slight bend that the guy thought was the end of the world and one side of the brakes needs adjusted.

Neighbor kid straightened the link, I put on the new pair of headlights that I bought 3 years ago  , put a new mirror and reflectors on. Straightend out some sheetmetal that was ugly, and will adjust the brakes tomorrow. If all works, I'll get reinspected and renew the license plate before I get caught running expired tags.

Sounds pretty complicated! don't they have a
checklist so you could go over it yourself first?
In MN on older tractors all you need is a SMV sign,
I suppose on the newer ones that have flashers they
should work. But, considering the traffic you
probably drive in you need to have more safety
equipment.

pretty much if it has it, it has to work. only thing as far as lights that I don't need is brake lights (not fast enough) and RAWLS (not big enough).
Turn signals, emergency flashers work fine.

(quoted from post at 19:15:00 04/06/11) Do you have to get it inspected every year?

every 2 til money gets short and they switch to one  personal passenger vehicles to a certain age go for 2 and yearly after 10 years old (think it's 10). Minimum 35 euro a pop then vehicles get an emissions test that's another 20-30 euro.
