I had 2 different guys tell me at an auction yesterday that Stamm Equipment in Wayland Michigan wasn't buying anymore salvage equipment, that they were just going to sell off what was on hand through November and then were closing. Said anything left then was gonna be melted down.

Anybody else heard this?

Yep, was there Friday and the doors lock November 1

They are actually making some decent deals on used parts.

I need to take inventory and go get some stuff while it is still available.

They'll part anything. I think John would part out his wrist watch if he could make a buck selling the parts.
Every make, type and age of farm equipment. Not like most of the yards who only specialize in late model tractors and combines.

The last time I whose there they wonted double for a junk part that I found elsewhere. I found a very good part for less then half with shipping.

I drove by there saturday and noticed the inventory of used equipment was low. I was wondering what was going on. If he is going to quit I wish he would stop going to auctions and bid everything up. Two weeks ago at Hudsonville consignment he was bidding on everything I was interested in. I had to leave before the end of the sale, does any one know what the Gleaner F combine with heads sold for?

No,I didn't go to Hudsonville.
As far as Stamm,I think there's been at least twice before that he was quiting wasn't there? When he was out on the muck he had a sale, said he was all through, going to Florida, then he opened up the new yard. Then he had health problems and that was going to be the end. Think he's crying wolf again this time?

From the old days when he and others ran the ohio mich indiana big auctions I thought he was a cabinent maker as he screwed everbody

Yep,him,Ray,Al,the rest of the gang, were quite a bunch. I got the best of him one time. Bought something at one of his sales that had some "extras" in the grain tank that he must have put in there to haul it home and forgot was there. I got it out the gate and home with a reciept that said I bought it "as is".
I took the "extras" to Archbold and Ray bought them and took them to the thumb. A buddy that went with me and I laughed all the way home about that one.
