I"m going to need to replace the 12v generator on my Oliver Super 55. The original Delco-Remy generator is a model 1100322. A friend has a 12v model 1100321 that he will sell me. Does anyone know the difference between a 1100322 and a 1100321?

I don't see those part numbers though. Are you sure they weren't 1100231 and 1100232? If so, those two look identical.

They use different commutator end frames different armatures, different drive end frames, and different drive end bearings.

The specifications are a little different.

1100321 has a maximum field draw of 1.5 to 1.62 amps at 12 volts. Maximum amperage output 25 amps. 14 volts. Rated RPM 2710.

1100322 has a maximum field draw of 1.58 to 1.67 amps at 12 volts. Maximum amperage output 20 amps. 14 volts. Rated RPM 2300.

If one had a bushing in the CE frame and the other a ball bearing that could account for the frame and armature numbers. If the mounting holes are correct the generators should interchange.
