Lexmark printer

On other printers I have been able to refull
the black cartridge. This one NO! Is there a way to bypass the no-refill feature and add ink
to the cartridge? Thanks for any help.

I have no experience with Lexmark. Some of the manufacturers have a chip in the cartridge that can sense when the level changes to the positive side (a refill sensor so to speak). Some will also send a command to the printer itself that disables the printer if the cartridge is refilled. I"d google the exact model you have to see if refill is possible without disabling the printer.

A few years ago I switched to an inexpensive Brother HL-2040 serier laser printer for all my black and white printouts. At that time the printer cost about $80 and kits are available to refill the toner cartridge myself. The per print cost is much cheaper than an inkjet even if you refill your own cartriges.

The HL-2220 is the newest version, the price bounces up and down at Amazon.con. Other brands are probably similar.

I have a Epson Printer (refils are EXPENSIVE to say the least, so I tried staples they quit selling after market for Epson.

Can't get much cheaper than that.
They do sell to USA.

Lexmark Is the worst inkjet printer on the market. The last one I had Made me go to a Brother HL-2070N Laser Black & White. Can get 2500 pages on one cartrage for $50. When I need a Color will go with a color Laser. The troble I have with Ink Jets is I don't use a printer very often so they dry up between uses. The laser will set there and be ready to use anytime.

If you have a model s400 Lexmark you have to use new Lexmark and Lexmark only refills. Any other cartridges will render the printer unusable. I have an s400 and went online and bought cheap refills and the printer would not operate with them.A call to customer service told me that the refills and the printer can " Talk" to each other.

In OZ...I have an epson, use TO560's. costs $18 new cartridge, $10 refills. [had you believe their cartridges could not be refilled].

I checked with the "refill" service that does our cartridges at work. Sales lady said she can refill my HP cartridges, BUT
Lexmark has a chip inside the cartridge. When the chip registers empty (whether is actually is empty or not) the cartridge cannot be refilled and override the chip.

Bendee,
I have had several Epson printers, 440, C60 C62 C86 Now C88 (chip fix 86 88) The best one was the 440 could do more with it.

Anyway I have put ink in all of them, it can be messy and I'm sure the newer printers know if you refill them or use an after market cartridge.

The Epson C62 had an error message "there are parts in your printer that are beyond there usable use" so i guess i refilled too many.

I've used the cartridges from 123 ink with no problems.
Now I've said it.
