I posted further down on this subject, but I had another area that drew an interest, how safe is the Arnold area south of the city on I-55 just below 270. I really appreciate all the feed back already left Thanks alot!!!!!!

Arnold is nice, although I think you'd like it if you stayed downtown. Don't be afraid of the city. It's not as bad as you've heard. I'd be more afraid of NY, Chicago or Detroit. Shoot even Omaha and KC have bad areas of town!

You are starting to make me wonder why I even live in this town, with it being dangerous everywhere. I've lived here for 11 years, and have only been shot twice.

Thanks Wilks54 I'm sure it's the same as here in Cincinnati. We all have them. I've been shot at twice and they say third times a charm, that's why I ask. Ha Ha

The Arnold area is fine. Decent schools plenty of shopping right at 55 and 141 which is the heart of Arnold. Decent hotels. I wouldn't have a problem staying there. I used to work for a Dodge dealer close to there. There are some decent hotels on Laclede's Landing on the riverfront which is very close to the stadium. Take a ride in the arch, visit the Old Cathedral. They are all really close together. If you have kids take them to Grant's farm they'll love it. It's free too. Just my thoughts. Gerard

arnold is safe, suburban area. Downtown (like any other major city) is safe during the day, but hotel rooms are a bit high. Like any other major city dowtown, it is built to cater to conventions/tourists. Catch a Cardinals game. (even if you are not a big baseball fan; it's an event) Grant's Farm is great (call for reservations) the Zoo is a must. Look up St. Charles, not far and great historical area if you or the family like antique shops.
