Directing Super C exhaust fumes away from the driver

What is the best way to set up a tractor exhaust on a Farmal super c to direct the exhaust fumes away from the driver?

My tractor has a straight up exhaust from the muffler and the fumes at times are overwhelming being drawn back over the driver! Help please!

Ron, Add a 2 ft extension to the muffler, IMO that should get it up and away from the operators deck. Made a world of difference on my 966 and my cousins 4230, both are open station tractors.! Most standard mufflers dump the exhaust at face level!

This answer will work wonders. Use same size normal exhaust pipe and have the Muffler shop expand the muffler end to fit the tip of the muffler. overlap about 3 inches. Use saw cuts in it to clamp if you need to take it off to get the tractor in a building. If it can be permanent, the muffler clamp will smash it together well. Jim

An elbow will move the stream up a few inches, but it also flows sideways and will, at some point of the compass, blow into your face, as the wind and direction change. Jim

Whats farming without some exhaust fumes. Seems a lot like trying to haul manure without getting any on your tires. Exhaust fumes are a lot easier to take than cleaning out a hog barn which I never had as big a problem with as the neighbors did.

Mine was never a problem till I cut 4 inches off of the muffler to get it in the garage one day, now it blows in my face. Add 6 inches to the muffler.

Lenghten the stack.

Thank you for your suggestions! Raising the stack lenght and attaching an elbow on top seems like a good fix to me!

Is the elbow sufficient to keep water out of the engine?

Thanks Folks!

I love this site and the wonderful suggestions!

Thanks again,Ron
