A Sad Day.........

Kinda like having to shoot the old family horse to put it out of its misery.

I have a nephew who does free lance carpenter work. In 1993, I sold him an '87 Ford F-250 4X4 pickup for a work truck. A couple of weeks ago, he bought another pickup for a replacement. Yesterday he took the old gal to the local scrap yard and still got $500 for it.

That old pickup helped make him a lot of money over an 18 year period. I forgot to ask him how many miles it had on it, but it had to be a ton.

what kind of shape was it in and did it run. i hate seeing perfectly running fords go to junk. at least take it to a place that parts them out. he might have got a little more

Around here you can get more at the scrap yard than the salvage yard on older stuff. I had a 1990 Olds 98 with the 3800 engine. It ran real good and had less than a year on all new brakes and lines. The fuel line rusted a hole in it. I did not want to mess with it any more. I tried to sell it to four different people and they would pick it apart. They would not give me $500 that I was asking. I finally got PO and took it into the scrap yard and got $550. So I can under stand just scrapping it. Much less bother.
