Guys!!,, Winter is OVER! in Central Texas and is speeding toward y'all up in the northern regions like a Santa Fe Freight running down Hill!
The Mesquite Trees started peeking out late last and this week also the Pecan Groves around San Saba Texas are putting out leaves here and there.
Yesterday it was only 86 degrees in Brady Texas the Geographical center of the State.
From I 20 South, Boys, stick a fork in it for it is Done!!!

John A-I have been hearing that from my buddy at Clairemont, Tx in the panhandle for about a month now. Here in western, Pa, we woke up to snow and 30 degrees. Hey the sooner you can send it the better.........

Seems you"re holding spring back down there- This morning is some fresh snow on the ground and ice skim on roads last night. And this is "South/Central Wisconsin" Crocus havn"t bloomed yet, not spring until then.

A little more than skim ice in northern WI... It was -2 degrees when I went out to the barn this morning. Predicting the same for tonight.

I drove through Brady on the way to Menard last weekend. Winter maybe over but dang you folks need some rain!

But we always get a cool spell around Easter. I remember a hard freeze on April 30 on Galveston Bay. The Pecan trees were fooled that year. I wish we would get a good rain though. Lake Sam Rayburn is down 4-5 feet, and Lake Conroe is down about 3 feet. My neighbor was watering his lawn when I left for school this morning. I could do without that expense.

Amen to needing Rain! We can't by one now it seems
Brady is about 100 mi west of the House it aint pretty here either! Thanks, Y'all keep us here in Texas in your Prayers for we do need it Desperately.

CLTX, Yes it does happen on rare occasions but it still it isn't often. I will bet we still have an Easter Blow, but, being Easter is later this year I really do not think it will freeze ( my opinion ). LOL!

I totally agree with you on Winter being over, but I"m still gonna wait until after April 15th to spread the grass seed.

About 20 years ago with had a freeze and some ice in mid-April.

On the other hand I can remember still mowing the yard in December.

Not complaining though, just part of living in Texas.

The bluebonnets are starting to bloom on the right-of-way outside of our fence.

If Nancy"s crazy neighbor will ever stop driving over them to pull into his driveway, then we"ll have a nice crop.

got 2 inches of hail today in Central Va. hope this isn't a sign of spring . has be great , mid 60's to 70's until today.

Its going to snow in Iowa tonight, not so fast on spring coming here. I want it to dry up so I can apply fertilizer, disk and be ready to plant next month.

The soil temperature is only 45 degrees.

Boy do I remember the Pecan Groves around San Saba Texas. Back in the days when I was at Bergstorm AFB in Austin 58-62. we used to spend the weekends camping in one of the groves on the San Saba River. Almost forgot those days thanks for reminding me.

Last year about this time we had that hurricane that hit mexico come up and dump allot of rain on the central Texas area. Driving through San Saba and Brady and all was like seeing a part of heaven.

Funny how everything in this part of the country either wants to take a bite out, sting you or poke a hole in you, but it sure is pretty when it's watered.

I can only imagine what a few inches of rain would do right now. I'm imagine it would change the landscape over night.

I just planted 50 trees on my new place over here by Corsicana, Tx with 100 more coming from the Texas Forestry Service. Go figure this is the driest March on record in our area.

I've been doing nothing but stretch a water hose lately.

i still aint set any tomatoes out yet...seen icicles hangin off the porch roof more n once on April 1st here in Sheridan,Tx.
