Went to an auction this morning and purchased some old hay rakes.

The first is an International Harvester Rake, payed $45 for it.

The second is a Minneapolis Moline Rake and payed $90 for it.

Also purchased a John Deere seat, a steering wheel and a pitman arm for a sickle bar mower all for $25.

I think it was a good day. Tomorrow I will be hauling it all home.

Thanks for reading!

Andrew. Swell pictures. Keep em Coming , that way they (posters) will have some body else to pick on. LOL. We all enjoy pictures, keeps things in perspective. year to year.Looks like the units you got will once again be put back into producing for the farm. Thanks . We appreciate them all/. Warmest regards LOU & VICTOR.

Glad you got tose two old rakes. About 30 years ago I drug an old JD #594 out of the woods. I replaced a few teeth, greased it up and have been using it ever since. Not too handy if you have to take it down the road, but it's still raking. Some day I guess I'll have to paint it!

I gotta follow start follow guys to auctions. Seems like some guys find a lot of good deals anymore! Nice solid lookin pieces of equipment though.

I know they are steel wheels , but I'd guess you can still call them tires ,-- On the first pic I never saw any like that one -- either hob nail, or bar tabs .

Which one? haha I still need to go and pick up the 1937 John Deere A Unstyled. Called the guy tonight to try and set up a time to go and get it in the next couple of weeks. We finally have good weather to do it.
My other John Deere A is a 1948 and that is a great runner. She starts every time without fail.

I would like to see some better pictures of the rakes, especially the McCormick and those wheels. Looks like someone has replaced the orignal steel rims with rims off of a manure spreader, would say those are definatly rake rims.

You must have a lot of money. You appear to be buying everything you see. You have the fever. I had it now I have a lot of stuff I have to keep up.

Once you get in the fields and get to working that "A", you will be sold on that model..they sound so good...!!
Plenty torque-rise to pull through the tough spots.

Ron.
