OT: should probably send some prayers for Japan

I know Japan was our enemy back in WWII, but that
is long ago.

Sounds like they are still getting 6.0 and bigger
aftershocks. The news said the 8.9 original quake
was one of the 10 biggest recorded.

Lots of loss of life and property, what the quake
didn't do the tsunami did.

There are some political implications to this
also. I support nuclear energy, but now this will
make it even more difficult to ever get any new
nuclear power plants built here. DOUG

My sympathy goes out to them, but can we send prayers instead of huge sacks of money this time?

Agree Doug and Randy,

BUT them Japanese guys don't want to buy tractors - just sell them.
Err wrong address?

Reports so far might be good for nuclear power. It appears the facility stood up to the worst possible scenario with no major problems.

Those tsunami scenes are pretty scary though, people driving away from the wave behind them only to see another coming toward them from the other direction. Yipes.

Just got an E-Mail from my sister (his mom) All is well . It was 5.5 where he was. He had to keep his cool among the kids.

Complete failure of multipul cooling systems, radiation leaks, explosions, evacuations. It stood up to a worst case scenario ? I think not. It looks like someone didn't plan on on the lights going out. If the future of nuclear power wasn't dead before this, it is now.
