John Deere model A rear wheel adjusment

I just purchased a 1949 model A and need to move the rear wheels in. they are cast centers looks to be a wedge holding them.is there a trick to removing the holding collar?

Take out the bolts and screw them into threaded holes and tighten equally. May have to spray the hubs with PB Blaster for a while if they don't break loose right away. Be careful not over tighten, cast will break.

What Allen said - there are two sets of holes for the bolts in those round clamps to go in. The holes the bolts are in now hold the clamp tight to the hub and the threaded ones which are empty now push the clamp off the hub when you tighten them.

You may have to push the clamp off the hub some and then drive the tractor around to get the hub lose from the axle.

thanks I'll give it a try I have them sprayed with PB blaster i'm new to the John Deere world I have a 1951 8N loader and A 1957 450 Farmall for the past 7 years. sold the Farmall bought the Deere. Thanks for the info. I knew there would be lots of experience out there. Bryan
