Ferguson TO30 Water Temp. Gauge

I purchased a universal water temp. gauge for my Ferguson TO30, however the probe that inserts into the block was too long. Does anyone know where I can find a water temp. gauge that will fit? I think the probe needs to be about 1 inch but the gauge I have was 2 inches.

I can't remember for sure but I think that I welded up a fitting for my TO-20.

The probe doesn"t insert into the block. There is a plug in the "goosneck" that runs from the head to the radiator that you have to remove to intert th probe.
