unbelievable.........my thieves post ......

The black piece with the triparmrunning up the middle of the container is what was stolen. Could see maybe someone busting theirs somehow and deciding to take mine as a replacement. Was driving on post this afternoon to check mail and saw a soldier carrying something familiar toward the autocrafts shop (place where they can rent a bay and use tools/equipment to fix cars and stuff). Turned around and got closer to see that it was a soldier that lives in the town I do and always runs/bicycles all over the area where my stuff is. My missing part was what he was carring. Put the window down and asked him where he got it and what he was doing with it and he just started talking smack. Called the MP's and told them what was going on, described the piece and the size and location of a plate that is welded on it and told them I have 2 others to match it at home and they can come look. Got my part back and the guy comes up and says "dude.if I'd known it belonged to an American, I wouldn't have touched it" . Not a real good choice of words on his part. The thing that him and his buddies were working on that needed a trip lever is now in the impound area being looked at by CID and German police in case anything else is stolen. He'll be charged with stealing and trespassing.

Embarrassing.......

Don't think I'd want to be in his shoes right now especially when the military police and local law gets done with him.

It may be awhile before he gets any leave to go home -- or maybe sent to a less friendly area .

I won't let it go that far as to hurt his family......... I'll let him sweat a week or so and prolly offer to drop it if he gets plenty of community service hours. Saddest part is, it's an NCO.

Dave

you should have asked him if he has ever seen the movie "midnight train"...all but the last 5 minuts would be for him

He's a thief, Dave. He's got good duty in Germany while a lot of others guys are away from their families actually risking their lives. All he's done besides stealing is reinforce some Germans view of the U.S. as "Ugly Americans". Heck, his comment to you did that.

I know...... and if he gets away with it, he'll do it again. Just hate to be the one that has him busted and food/money cut back for his family. If he was single.....no mercy. If any of the other stuff turns out to be stolen, I'll have no say.

Dave

good idea put him to work on your farm. stall cleaning should give him time to think too.

Might even get him to paint your tractor too.

Far as I can see being a NCO doesn't give him the right to disrespect someone else s property.

I am proud of most of our service men and women , but he is a bad Low life to me, to wear the uniform of an officer to try to prove the old saying " Rank has its privileges."

two things in life I can't tolerate is a lair and a thief.

Ask me for something and I'll give ya the shirt off my back if need be, but don't take me for granted and just take it.

Guess he earned a new rank he is now a
CON missioned Officer.
An Iranian would cut off his hand for a first offense.

(quoted from post at 18:33:04 03/05/11) Talk about solving a crime. Kinda caught him red handed!!!

Gene

Shoulda bought a lottery ticket or 5 but I was late to work as it was.

I guess once in a while you get lucky and catch a crook red-handed. It upsets me too that someone in uniform in a non-life threatening area would abuse his position like that.

Good catch Dave. Let us know the end result if you find out.

Those 3-point dump carriers look handier than a pocket on a shirt.

Anybody got a source this side of the pond?

You aren't the one that is going to get his food/money cut back for his family... He was.

Not a lot to them but they are real handy. Just bought my 3rd. These, my bale fork, and a harbor freight quick hitch has kept my sanity and people skills healthy. The dump is kind of useless on an 8N size tractor because of the heighth but with a little creative maneuvering.........

makes a nice snow scoop and will handle as much weight as the tractor can handle.

I can end you some better pics if you want to make one. Think I can even find a series of pics where a guy made one.

So you're upset that Mr. Scumbag Thief is going to get his dole cut back? Wow- what a shame! Perhaps he can look at it as a learning experience, and when he gets out of stir, maybe he'll straighten up! But I kind of doubt it. . . Learning experiences are generally lost on those of limited learning ability.

In the immortal words of the school principal in "Back to the Future"- "He's an idiot. It runs in families. His parents were probably idiots."

Dave, Congradulations for a job well done!

It bothers me when people can't keep their fingers off another person's property...

Hopefully this fellow will turn a new leaf in his life.... and can later on thank You for the wake-up call...

He gave himself enough rope, let himhang himself with it.

An NCO...enlisted are better than that...
Let the scum go to Leavenworth.

He made the choice, not you.
Now let him live with it,
and don't think a thing about it.

Sometimes you can look the other way,
and sometimes you can't.

It's a volunteer military right now. Maybe if he was drafted and mad, maybe I could understand. He friggin VOLUNTEERED. Don't let him disgrace my Flag, my Army, or my Country like that. Do what you will, God bless ya. I've said too much.
That man don't need to be in a uniform, I don't care what his family status is.
Proud to Serve
clowns like that keep the true soldiers back a bit...
just my two cents

He's the one who should have thought about his family. Had you not caught him, who knows what else he would have gotten away with by stealing it. Just like shoplifters are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, so should this guy. If he was starving and homeless and took some apples off the tree is one thing but stealing parts to build his project? He has a job and an income. If they kick him out of the military, so be it. He has no one blame but himself.

He stole from you,PROBABLY not his first theft.
He's in the Army by HIS choice, not forced by draft.
Letting him off will be the same as giving an addict "a little more" money or dope to help him get by.
Someone in his position should show more responsibility.

AAHHH yes a free ticket to Kansas. Saw more then one get the E ride ticket while in Germany. Looking at a DD.

The rank of NCO is meant to be respected because it was earned, but some lowlifes slip through. As an NCO, I am expected to set the standard for my family and my military counterparts while representing the values of the U.S. any where I am and at all times. This loser failed on all parts and deserves what"s coming. I"m sure this wasn"t the first time; just the first time he got caught. You owe him nothing.

Well I dont think that your bein an american REALLY makes a difference, prolly was hopeing that as a fellow yank you would feel sorry for him and drop the charges he deserves what he gets

I have no sympathy for a service member caught stealing. I doubt he will go to Leavenworth, most likely he will get an Article 15. (basically a fine) The problem is the degradation of American values. They talk about the way you are to conduct yourself in the military constantly, but unfortunately by the time a kid gets that far, his values have pretty much been established. Spent a year in Iraq in an MP unit, I was less than impressed by them to say the least. :^(

When I was in the service many years ago during the Draft days our training NCO gave all the new students a standing order, "Don't bring any barracke thief to the orderly room until he's fallen down the stairs, TWICE!"
