F150 hood latch cable

My friebd has a 2005 F150 and the hood won't open.You can pull the hood release and the cable moves the latch that you can see through the grill to the end of the stroke. But the hood does not pop up to the safety release.Is therer any way to release the latch from outside the front of the truck. thanks for any help. Ron

Dosent say where you are, but maybe its froze down, sometimes i give mine a tap in the general area of the release while someone is pullin the lever, it wrks..Bob

Try having someone hold down lightly on the front of the hood while you pull the hood release and see it it releases.

Common Ford problem.Spray some WD-40 in the workings.thump the front center of the hood with the palm/heel of your hand.

Oil works better.The hood latch gets little attention until it wont release.
