Type of Stainless Steel for Exhaust

I"m planning on making an exhaust stack for my wd45 out of stainless steel. I know there many different types of stainless steel pipe: 304, 409, and so on... Which type should I use?

304#4 will look the best it has a brushed look, very nice 304 is also a very high grade of stainless.

any 400 series stainless will rust .

any 300 series of stainless will resist corrosion for the longest time. it's expensive though.

I use dairy pipeline ss for pipes.

just make sure it is anti-magnetic 304 works fine for exhausts

In the paper industry 304 was not good enough, we used 316.
