I have an old tractor that my grandpa built back in the 30's. He was a machinnist and built this tractor out of Model A and T parts. I am considering selling it but would like to gather some information first. Does anybody know of somone in Michigan who would have knowledge or interest in such a machine? The last time it was running was in the late 90's. It has been in a dry barn for the past 60 years. We used it to plow our garden until the mid 90's. Then we parked it and that is where it sits.

my advice would be hang onto it and find someone to help you get her running ,wish I had one of my grandfathers tractors If you get rid of it,you will likely regret it in the future! good luck to you.

I would keep it to remember your Grandpa with but if you must sell it find a tractor club near you,Someone will help you, What part of Michigan are you in?

proven modern society disease Vent , ,putting a price on everything and a value on Nuthin ,,. i treasure all my tools my ancestors handed down to me..

There will be some serious interest in it especially if it has on the conversion kits Ford/Sears/Montgomery Wards sold to turn your Model T into a tractor.

See tractor conversion half way down the page:

They are real popular at tractor shows in Michigan right now. Someone will want it. probably not worth more than $700-$800.

Grandpa had one but the scrap man got it in the 1950's probaly for just a few dollars. i wish I had it back.

Picture??

My dad talks of his old doodle bug. He was in Freeland. So I would like to see what one looked like.

In NH and MA there is a Doodlebug pulling club. Other states may have similar organizations. They pull about ten times a year.

Value: 250-750. Seems to be a lot of them around, but prices tend to stay fairly low.

If you do decide to sell, drop me line, I would be interested.

I have my Dads tools, common stuff but they aint for sale.My uncle Buds axe, an Ithaca shot gun uncle Roland gave me over 40 years ago.No one has enough money to buy them.

I proably will keep it not sure yet. Getting it running won't be that difficult. It was running last time we parked it. My dad also left me a 1919 harley davidson that has been in the family since the late 20's. I have been working on that for the past 9 months. It's about 85% done. Its as close to origional as possible. no new paint or anything. It has the patina look. If it could only talk!

FYI

I was offered $1,850 for it a couple of years ago by an old timer from my area. But it really doesn't have much to do with money. Its worth way more to me because of who built and used it; my family. But still if i ever do sell it I dont want to give it away.
