I"ve heard the parking brake is weak or can be left on and burned up, so check that. Other than that They are pretty good from what I"ve heard.

I heard of a guy that has one and he wired a switch on the brake handle and a RED light on the dash and no more problem.

Shifted hard and poor shifter location. They held up pretty well. Park brake needed to be watched like others have stated. Operators station seemed a little clumsy.

There are two shifter configs on a 784, inline up to 1981 (white side panels) and H shifter 1982 to 84 (red side panels)

I've drive the H pattern series lots, no issues, inline to a lesser extent and it worked fine.

All have shifted easily.

The warning light on the dash isn't fool proof, it is factory equipment (normally) but is often hard to see in the sun etc on a ROPS tractor.

Brakes and parking brake tend to be the biggest concerns, dry clutch tractor (like most) so with the loader check it out.
