Cleaning shop and I have a South Bend lathe,9"x36" model 415ya 6speed. Had for years and haven't used so it must go. Whats the value with tools, located in NW Wi.

Picked up an 8 speed Altas 24", been about 10 years now. $250, including 2 spare 3 jaw chucks, 1 4 jaw, and a good sizebox tooling.

Probably $500, depending on demand in your area, and assuming there is not a lot of backlash and wear on the ways.

Butch, there should be a serial number on the top of the righthand end of the front way. I think the 415 is a 1935 or 1936 model. Check the link below for serial numbers. Lots of South Bend's on Ebay, some accessories like steadyrests are valuable too. The more tools the better.

I have a 1949 10 x 36 inch south bend lath. It doesn't have a gear box. To change speed you move a v-belt to a different pulley. To change the thread speed, you manually change the gears on the left side.

No idea of value. Had mine for 30 years and only paid $150.
