posthole digger auger

I've got 2-9in augers for my digger. can a welding shop add flighting to make one of them about a 15in, cheaper then i can buy a new auger?

No, but you can sell one of the nines and probably get i/2 the money for a new 15. Or try a swap ad.

The weld shop where I help out could do it for about $200. I'm guessing the flighting at $20 a foot.Might be worth asking.

Or buy the flighting and weld it on yourself.Fairly simple to do.
