Repair slice in tire lugs

I've got a few lugs on my 14.9 x 28 tires that have deep slices at the base. I can open them up enough to apply a glue. What would you use? I've read about some Sikaflex products.

Thanks,
Tony

Sika products are fine pro quality materials. However, nothing much is going to have the strength of the original rubber in tension (lug holding to carcass under load). If it were mine I would use White Gorilla glue. Use a light misting of water (as in the directions) to make it set. Jim

Break the bead and put a carridge bolt or two thru from inside the carcass. Drill thru the lug then countersink the nut into the lug.

Some of the old time tire guys can mold a new lug on the tire if the rest of it is good. I had one repaired this way on my JD H years ago and I would have to point it out to you before you'd see it. Finding a mold for your tire may not be easy. I had to make one for my tire guy so he could do it. Not too hard to make, just time consuming. Way cheaper than a new tire. Good luck with it,
Paul
