The 3 point stopped lifting the other day. It is full of oil. I am unsure how to remedy the problem. Does anyone have any idea of the parts/gaskets/pictures and modern oil to use to change the transmission and rear end oil?

The first thing I would check is to see if pto was turning. It could be several things that made it quit. what were you doing when it quit?any water in system ? nothing special to change the oil is needed except a pan that will hold five gallons of fluid,a couple of proper sized wrenches to fit all three drain plugs, and five gallons of gl-1 80-90 wt oil to replace it with.

Brady, With the side cover removed, follow the
linkage down from the top cover. The stem may be
broke connecting the linkage to the pump. Chuck

is there a chain of stores that carry the g-1 based oil? Once my gasket kits come in, i will take the top cover off. Is there any tricks to removing the top cover?

Don't take the top cover off. First figure out the problem. Take the right side cover off. Reach down and make sure the control fork is still connected to the valve. Make sure the valve will move in out of the pump.

You try to take the top cover off and you will destroy everything inside unless you reach in both side covers and unhook things that you cannot see and have to only go by feel. Likely just the valve has stuck and just reaching in and moving it by hand will get it working again. But just for that you need to get the repair manual and even with that and the parts book they are hard to figure out when you cannot see anything and just have to feal and be a contorshinest (SP?) to get in betweel the wheel (If you take off the fender in will go better) and main case.

Gents,

I removed the right side cover and found nasty old oil. I played with the 3 point lift control and seemed to free something up. When behind the tractor facing toward the front from the back, I placed the 3 pt lift control in the up position and rotated the pto by hand clockwise and to my amazement, the darn thing started to lift. when controls are down it lowers. This was all done by hand of course i have a small fitting under the oil filter that is stripped out and needs replaced(that is why i cant verify now). I hope this fixes it. I am going to find some oil tomorrow at a oil dealer and check my email when i get home. Is there anything else to verify before putting the system back together?

By the way, i really appreciate the help. I know these machines are pretty simple but you guys have been a great help.
