Well guys I guess the time has come for my Grandfather to pass to the next life. Due to quality of life issues my family has issued a DNR order so we'll see what happens tomorrow when they take him off the trachea tube. Losing anyone in the family is rough my Grandfather was truly my Father. All the memories of working together on the ranch, him teaching my how to disc and work on the tractor....man this is rough. Thoughts and prayers are appreciated guys. Thank you.

Man ,,That is tuff ,,,Just make him as comfortableas possible ,, He will sense Your Presence .. My Dad Always did know we were there until his final hour ..PRAYERS SENT

Not to make light of his passing, but think of all the fun, good times, and great memories. Those good times are priceless and you will always remember them. Those experiences are what made your life as you know it.

Celebrate him!!!

Grandfathers want nothing more than for their family left behind to carry on the traditions and create memmories of their own for their young ones. Don't let it stop with you. He may pass on but he did his job. You and your fond memories are proof of that. A lot of us Grandfathers out here are building those memories as we speak. One can never start too soon. We pray that God has his next "ranch" all ready for him. You know He does.God Bless.

Sorry to hear this, but will be glad to remember you and your family during this time.

Thanks guys. I guess they tried taking him off breathing but his body has given up. I believe anytime soon he'll be gone. I said goodbye last night so right now I'm just hanging out with my wife and several other family members. I did have a good two hour talk with my Grandma and shared some good memories of past times.

I was lucky enough to be named after my Grandfather
and Father; I'm Ray III, or as Grandpa used to call me,
"Ray "da turd" My Grandpa and I were real close.

Now, sorry to say, I"m Ray the Last. Take Care; I
know how you feel.

Praying for you and Gramps. Both mine died before I was 4. You are lucky to have had a good relationship. Thank God for that. Dave

You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. May all the good memories you have help guide you through the coming days ahead.

Well guys my Grandfather is still hanging on and is now in a convalescent home. I tell you it's so tough realizing that his time on this earth is so short. When I visit him he always asks me about tractors and jobs that we did in the past as if we're still doing them today. I always knew it but this latest incident has brought back so many memories. Memories of all the work we did together on the ranch. Shoot even the smell of diesel brings memories of him on the tractor taking care of his fields. I try to take solace in the fact that God has it all under control. However the memories of times past though wonderful are so painful at the same time. For those of you guys who have lost a Father/Grandfather how do you deal with the memories?
