Farmall H ticking noise

Just did the head new pistons new sleeves and sounds really good but after a few minutes it starts ticking like a lifter noise upper end, but cant pinpoint the exact source of the noise!! Mayybe wrist pin bushings? please Help

sounds like a spark jumping maybe from one of the wires.--- Get a buddy to take one off at a time to see which one it is or wait till after dark and start it up and look for it .

If that isn't it

Take a funnel and a piece of garden hose.
attach it to the funnel and hold funnel to ear other end to wherever you think sound is coming from.

I have done that! Its almost a rap loud enough to really notice it

Just might be a liner moving ever so slighty, Rare, but could happen. Let us know what you find.

How could you do a job if you don't replace & fit the rod bushings?

Same thing happened to my son's H; turned out to be too much wear on the old crank & camshaft gears and they "ticked/rattled" when the oil warmed up and the engine was at idle or slightly faster. Newer gears solved the problem.
