Thinking of Warm(er) Weather

Hey guys... Here is a video that i made last fall (Early November), about a small tractor show that i go to. My friend lives a little ways up the road, and has like a dozen tractors, and so when the show wrapped up, i drove a few back for him. It was a lot of fun. This tractor is a VAC case, an older restoration that is still in great shape.

The second video i shot in December, when my mom and I flew down to Texas (San Antonio and Austin) for a few days, and we did some sightseeing and i met up with one of my buddies off of youtube, and made this video with a couple of his tractors. I hope you guys enjoy :)

Not well... Two and a half weeks ago, i decided to start taking apart my "B" engine, and fell on some ice and dislocated my knee. Theres lots of pain, with surgery next Thursday, and a couple months of physical therapy. When it dislocated, it chipped the bone and so now theres a chunk of bone floating around in my knee the size of a nickel. Oh well, im finishing that #@@$!#% thing if its the last thing i do.

Aside from that, great, thanks :)
I started welding classes at my local school last fall, and ive earned an "A" in there, and I love it. I learned O/A and right now we're working on stick. Here are some overhead 7018 welds i did. I still have a lot to learn, and i'm looking foward to it.

I just want it to warm up out there, so i can get back outside and start doing things again :-/

How have you been??

Those are some decent looking welds. You sound excited about it and that's good news. Sorry about the knee. No need to tell you to take it easy on the knee cause it's talking to you already the way it sounds. Good luck with the surgery. Jim

Sorry about the knee. Take care of it now or it will come back to haunt you in later years.

The welds look good. Keep at it.

Good lookn welds you got going there! All it takes is practice to be perfect from where you are now. Stick with it! Enjoyed the video.

Stay with it young friend! You are coming along well with your welding I see. Get that knee healed up and back in shape. Best regards!!

Good videos Lanse. Hope the knee mends well...shouldn't be a problem for you young guys. The welds look good too. Like they say---practice is the best instructor.

I'm disappointed... I saw those tractors in a circle and was expecting a demolition derby! LoL

Good to see you're getting the hang of 7018. It's the best go to rod there is. 6010/6011 is the other one to get proficient at. For light duty stuff and fast welding 7014/24 is a good choice. No need to bother with any other rods. The best way to fill in the crater from the previous bead is to strike your arc about 1/2 an inch ahead of the crater and once the arc is established move the rod all the way back on the crater. With a little practice you can make it look like one continuous weld with no stops and starts. You're ready to start doing some higher strength projects. Keep up the good work. Dave
