hey guys this is rick165 i had to change the spelling of my name a little bit because im on the wifes computer.i cant use the stairs yet to go down in the basement where my computer is at.i had a heart attack friday morning on the interstate going to work.i had 2 blockages one was 99% the other one was 70% both in the same main artery.doc says technically i shouldnt be here just wasnt my time to go i guess.i am 54 yrs old i am very active and other wise in great shape i have a 110 acre farm i piddle around on do about 15 acres of hay in the summer for the wifes horses then spend about 60 hrs a week working on a asphalt plant in columbus ohio that is i hour 15 minuets away.i dont know how a guy could still be so active with a blockage like that but i still felt great just last weekend i split and loaded a 15 foot trailor stacked about 3 feet high from front to back all by myself.but there was a few signs i ignored but had no idea it was related to this.i would get a few quick mild chest pains the last couple months but thought it was from breathing in cold air.and sometimes in the morning a couple times a week my leg muscles felt like i just run a marathon the day before so if any of you guys feel certain things that are just kind of a nuisance pain you better get checked out.i dont have any heart damage doc says i should get back to where i was before.i have to take some pills for a year or so but i can handle that just glad im stil here to read all you guys post everyday so be safe and listen to your body.

I know the feeling well.Just 7 days ago I was cutting wood and hauling some to the shed and I had a heart attack. I got my son to go over to my Moms and get some nitro pills. I took two before the rescue squad got here. I couldn't stand up by then. They gave me one more nitro pill and 5 asprins. It's 42 miles to the hospital for me. They called the hospital and was told to deliver me to the coronary unit. They went to work on me as I came in the door. Got 1 stint put in to open one that was 100% blocked. I don't remember much from the time I left home till I was in the ICU. Nitro pills, fast driving and a stint saved me.

I go back on the 15th for stress test and make plans to open 3-4 more blockages from 70%-90%. I'm so lucky to be reading your post and replying to it too. I'll be 59 on the 26th. Full time job all my life and cattle farm too. Glad you made it and hope all goes well in the future.

Make sure the nitro pills are up to date. A friend had trouble and his pills did very little if any good. Doc said he was very lucky as his pills were out dated and not very effective. He will be getting stints put in this week.

Rick I had the big one 3 years ago. Ten days in the ICU and another 12 in the hospital. Take several pills for blood preasure but otherwise pretty full recovery. Just do what the doctors tell you to and do not get discouraged.Recovery takes a while. My warning signs were just about like yours and sturborn me would just not realize something was wrong.

I know the feeling. I was opened up in 03 for 3 bypasses. Doing good now. I went out to sort some cattle and opened the gate and down I went. The dog kept 150 cows at bay while I made my my out of the coral. Glad you are doing ok. Take it easy for a while.

Glad you're still here too! Take it easy and get a neighbor or a friend to help you if you have some heavier work to do. My dad had a heart attack at 53 and the Dr's. told him some of the worst things to do are change a tire or shovel snow. Dave

So very glad things worked out so well for you. I wish you a 100% and speedy recovery.

My doctor recommended I take aspirin each day and I have done so for 20 years or longer. I now read of all of the benefits and not just circulatory related. Thanks doc!

Again, best wishes and advisory to us.

Rick glad you pulled through. My Great uncle had a bad heart attack at age 56. He only made it another thirty-five years. He watched his diet but did not take any medicine after the first year or two. He did take an aspirin and a tablespoon of apple vinegar every morning.

My father at 43 (when I was 17) had a heart attack putting up wire fence around some 20 acres he recently purchased in 1980. My uncle (his brother) who lives next door found him laying out there dead.

I'm 47 now, and the blood pressure issue is hereditary. I do what the doctor says since he said he has admitted people for having B.P. lower than I had about a month ago.

Very glad to hear you are ok Rick, and I thank God that we are all here posting in this fun little tractor message board!

thanks for the all the replys.i am doing what the doc says and taking it easy.but it isnt easy setting around.
