I hate when this happens!

I have a all terain vehickle that was made for the Alaskan pipe line that has bars and chains to hook on the tires. The bars stick out about eighteen inches from the tire, and can be mounted in a couple minutes each. They are a little to wicked for me to ever use, in case you find a stick ot something to get tangled in.

This exact same (as in the video), thing was done back in the old F-20 days, but often the clutches would slip to much to pull the thing, and often made the clutches smoke from slipping. My dad said once you fixed the clutch so it would not slip, then you did not have enough power to get yourself out of trouble.

Dads opinion was somewhat leaning one direction, as he thought that the horses were the answer to everything.

Were you refering to the Ford major stuck in the mud or the pipeline crew with pipe layer tipped over. I'm glad I wasn't at the bottom of the hill when it arived there. Yes they forgot something!

As for the stick on the wheel trick I've seen that before.
As a side not to that, years back the conservation department was promoting reforestation with species of pine trees in a checkrow pattern. A fellow around here had a Ford N tractor with fabricated 4" angle iron bolted to his rear wheels in a simular manor to the limb chained to the wheel. After he got it lined up for a pass, the irons would penitrate the sod and pop out a divit, where a seedling would be placed by hand, and then the divit was stomped back in around the seedling. Me and my gramp seeded about 10A that way, behind this guy.
