Cockshutt 30 Won't Stay Running

I have a 1951 Cockshutt 30 that I bought and repainted. The man I bought it from said it ran when he parked it but now it will only start for about five seconds and rev up and thats all. It won't fire back up unless it sits a while likes its flooded but I dont know if it is or not. The only thing that has been done to the motor is I drained the oil and put in new oil and I cleaned the carburetor really good. I have also completely re-wired the tractor and put new plugs, points, condenser, coil, and spark plug wires on the tractor. The tractor has good 120 pounds of compression on all cylinders and has good spark.

its not getin fuel .. repeat same startup , when engine stops, instantly turn off gas ,, then drain gas in carb . should be at the very least a quarter cup drain out'. . if barely couple t -spoons trikle out ,, then the carb.float valve is stikn , or the tank sedimrnt bowl has stoppag limiting free flow,. you could try a healthy dose carb cleaner in the breather at initial start up ,, zenith carbs can plug in the power jet and do just as you describe ,, may have to take apartand clean ,, be careful when you take it apart.. usually re use the gaskets , sometimes apply a thin coat mally grease as sealer if in doubt

Do you have the air hose off the carb so you can see
if it is flooding, gas running out black smoke from
exhaust. I imagine not enough gas is getting into
carb. maybe needle valve, probably not getting
enough gas to carb. let gas run into a bucket for a
while.
