Ground Hog day in Texas

I know the weather is bad so no need to pick at it 'caue it won't heal if you do. Down here in Texas we don't have any ground hogs but we do have us a Jack Russel terrier! So here's how it works. The JR starts to stir about first light and needs to be let out. If he pees first, we have just a few more weeks of winter. If on the other hand he takes his dump first we have six more weeks of winter. BUT! if he dumps and pees at the same time we're in for a world of hurt!This morning he peed! Now go tell it on the mountain!!

We had a freak snowstorm last night. had about 1/4 inch on the ground this morning. No groundhogs here either unless you count the marmots in the Alps. If we did, he wouldn't see his shadow today.
Hope you folks get thru this one without any great loss or frostbite.

That's a lot better than useing a groundhog don't have to look for him either.

A Groundhog is a Marmot and is also called A Whisle Pete in some places.

And also called a Whistle Pig, in fact we have a local band called the Whistle Pigs. They have the only bluegrass accordian player in the music industry.

I bet they make a big deal out of Groundhog Day.

Around here they are called woodchucks, usually accompanied by some adjectives, not suitable for this family related bulletin board.
