Its about 6am and its still dark of course. I can see some pole lights around on other farms so it must not be snowing anymore. NO idea how much snow we have, it looks like alot. There is a snow drift 5 or more feet deep across the middle of the barn lot and I can only see a small amount of the farm stead from the back door. The wind is howling at 30mph I bet and the temp is 15F so its bound to be cold. During the night the winds have shifted from NE to pretty much N and that has moved some snow around to different spots from last evening. With the diminished snow I HOPE we can at least achieve some sort of victory in getting all the cattle taken care of. The major moving of snow may have to wait untill tomorrow when the winds let up. I'll head out at daylight and see what is really going on out there.
So whats it like outside your back door? Becareful everybody!

No snow in SC, 1 inch of needed rain. Already fed cows, getting a little muddy. Beats feeding hay in snow. What i hat about feeding cows in snow is getting the twine off.

In Nova Scotia, we are waiting for the storm from your area to arrive in a few hours. We did get about 12cm of snow last evening. The forecast for the afternoon/evening is heavy snowfall. Cheers, Murray

It's 9:45am here in SW Ohio we/I have 2-1/2" of ice on the driveway which continues right on down the street. Tried to go to work this morning and the 30 to 40mph winds from the west kept blowing me to the side of the road so I came back. We still have power here but DPL reported that about 50,000 people are without power and with the wind chill close to 10 that would suck! Wind is supposed to subside around 6pm tonite so I'm guessing we won't see salt trucks till then expecting a 1 to 2" dusting today. I feel for you folks in the path of this storm especially with livestock! I've been there!

Well outta my back door rite now it is around 22 with about half an inch of snow. All that snow you guys got stayed north of us were we live in Indiana. We got well over an inch of rain yesterday and its snowin now.
