Well, I tried another "music" video. Think I've gone bananas.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC6swThRsoA"> Over The Waterfall</a>

An old fiddle tune done on guitar. Ron

Meant to add that I'm not a farmer or rancher but I do own a genuine Stetson hat.

And I do bale some hay in the appropriate season with an old NH small-square baler. The bales go to friends who have horses.

Morning Ron!

What kind of guitar is that? Really has a nice tone to it.

Thanks for the tune; sure brings back a lot of memories!!! :>)

Hi Allan,

The guitar is a Yamaha from about the mid 1980s. I use light gauge strings. A grandson (who is better on guitar than me, he has a big $ Fender, probably similar to yours) told me to try light gauge strings and I really like them. I think the string gauges enhance the tone.

Larry,

Thanks. I'm still thinking about doing Cold, Cold Heart on the pedal steel and posting it.

The temps in these parts are certainly Cold, Cold!

Oh Yeah,

The heavier the guage, the more sound ya get out of the instrument. Well, except for flat-wounds and there ya just get a dud; beyond me why people even use those strings. :>)

However,

The lighter the gauge, the lower you can set the action and it's just plain easier to bend strings and make the goofy thing "cry". :>)
