Air compressor placement

Looking for any last minute ideas on where everyone on here has their air compressor located in the shop.

Thought about building a platform over the entry door (kind of a triangle) but I figured the vibration will be a little too much.

I want it in the building for maintenance.

Other ideas,
1. Under a work bench
2. Small enclosure with vents to knock down the noise.

What do all of you do?

Thanks in advance,
Rick

Just have mine setting back in the corner on the concrete floor, noise doesn't bother too much I wouldn't box it in, they get pretty hot.I have # 8 wire running back to it and have 1 inch heavy copper pipe coming back to work area.

mY COMPRESSOR IS ON A SHELF outside the shop, undre the roof of the attached polebarn. The compressor is bolted to the shelf, the shelf is bolted to the rafters.been there for 15 years

depends on how big it is an how much noise you want. mine is a 4 cylinder 2 stage an a 120gal tank, its sits in the very back corner of the shop then have 1 1/2 inch hard pipe ran the entire lenght of the shop with outlets every 10 ft, with drain drops at several entervals along the lenght of the pipe. the start of the pipe it is at a slight decline to the end so any moisture in the pipe will drain into the drops that have petcocks on them.
just my 2 cents

The 60 Gal Tanked compressor is on the floor just inside the roll up door to the right only because with a 24' wide shop there are not many places to put it with the tool chests, work table, welding table etc.The other wall across from it has a 30 gal tanked compressor on a shelf about 6' from the floor and under this shelf is my torch cart and several welders. The rest of this wall has enclosed cabinetry to store the things I "need" to do the things I do.My shop area is 24' wide and 22' deep in a 24' X 40' X 10' Bldg. The balance of my Bldg. is where my wood working takes place.

I built a shack off the side of my shop. Had the first compressor inside for 20 years. This beats having it inside all hollow! Less noise and actually easier to get at to work on.
Buddy had his on top his bathroom for many years in his body shop. It was a great place for it.

Garage/shop is 40x72. Two roll up doors on the 72 wall, with two driveways. Doors are 18 footers, with 10 feet in between them. Compressor is against that 10 foot wall, inside. 50 foot hose on manual reel will reach to anywhere in shop and outside a long ways. And I can drain it after every use.
