It"s been awhile since I"ve seen it 20 degrees and rain. That"s not good. Hope it turns to snow soon. Generator ready, trucks and tractors fueled and ready, chainsaws, water drawn, lots of wood, let"s go!!! I"m just guessing it"s really bad in lots of places right now. I think we are lucky and north of the worst ice.

Anxiously waiting in Ohio, to see what it brings.
Wood in and all propane tanks filled..
Not gonna move any of it till the wind dies down.!!
( They predict high winds and dropping temps Wed, here.)

Here, aka farmington IL, we have been getting light snow since around noon. We might have a couple inches of new snow currently. We, like you, are happy to be north of the ice belt. The forecasts have now pushed the expected snow fall to around 2 feet and winds that will start from the east and turn clear around to the west so I am sure we will have drifts every direction. We have everything about ready. We are planning for the likelyhood we will not be able to get to the cows at any point on wednesday. We are going to wrap up a couple loose ends in the morning and then get hunkered down and see if we can keep the bare neccesities moving for the duration. This is going to be one to for the record books.

24inches of snow and 40 MPH winds for tomorrow and freezing rain right now. Why do I stay in North Missouri?

Southeast of St. Louis we're could get up to 1" of ice followed by up to 12" of snow, then blowing wind and drifting.

Northern Wisconsin- we got about 2" and they tell us that"s all for this storm- what"s wrong with that picture?

Freezing drizzle here right now at 10 pm at the lake of the Ozarks. Then calling for 9 to 24 inches of snow. Hope this is not a rerun of 2007 and all the ice and a week with out power

Recent flooding only to have a Cyclone bearing down (or is that up?) on Queensland. Is God angry with us????

We are all bedded down here in Oklahoma. I had the pleasure of setting in my easy chair and watching out the big window and remembering whrn it use to be me out there. Son and grandson opened up a bay on the hay barn so the gals could all get. Got wood by rhe fireplace and extra water drawn. Oklahoma state University close so son will be here all day tomorrow. Predict 20 inch.

This may not sound bad to those of you up north, but for us down south things are pretty bad.

At 1:30 this morning (don"t ask what I was doing up) temp was 34 with rain. Within an hour temp had dropped to below 32 with sleet. Winds 20 mph steady out of the north, gusting to 30+.

Current temp is 17 (its 6:40 now), sleeting hard. Sounds like pebbles hitting the windows. Dallas/Ft. Worth and most of north Tx is shutting down.

On top of the 1/2" sleet, they are predicting 2 - 4 inches of snow. Temps will not get above freezing until Saturday. Temp tonight and Wed supposed to get down to 10, with wind chill in the negatives.

Our offices (wisely) are closed today and maybe tomorrow since the temps are too cold for road conditions to improve. We may not be able to go to the farm this weekend if roads don't clear up.

Wind was strong enough to blow our trash dumpster over even though it was up against the house.

Once it gets light, I'll go shut the water off at the barn and put the barn cats in the tack room.

News reporting some power lines down. We still have our gas space heaters so even if we lose power, we'll be ok. Lots of food in the pantry.

I took a couple of pics, will see if James can post them later.

Nancy, I live in Northeastern Ontario, and what you decribe sounds realy bad. It's -13 here at 9am, and the sun is shining, and there is no wind. I prefer what we have over what you have any day. At this temp the ice is somewhat sticky and has way more traction than at freezing temps, and "fills in the potholes, so the driving is better" as we always say. The storm is supposed to go south of us, and our forcast is for sunny any clear. Harv
