Anyone use this stuff? My 98 Dodge diesel (350000 miles) isn"t liking this cold weather up here in Manitoba, and i wondered if this might help... I plug her in at home, but once in a while i have to leave it and can"t plug in, then at -25C (-13F) i have to crank for 20 - 20 seconds for her to fire after 2 cycles of the glow plugs (using #1 diesel), never had a gelling problem (yet). I"m looking at some AMSOIL stuff
Cetane booster

i try to add some power service to every tank. between cetane boost and lube boost. sure can't hurt.

The AMSOIL diesel products are good. You may want to try thier "cold flow improver" as well. Will keep you from getting gelled up.. works with bio-diesel as well. Will send you an email.

I think we have better diesel in Canada than some places in the US(ie/ not bio diesel). While a cetane booster may help a little bit, if you got your truck started when it's -25C without being plugged in, you're doing really good. Starting your truck and letting it run for about 15 minutes at a faster idle every few hours might be a better solution if you can't plug it in. Dave

I am an Amsoil dealer/user so I am partial. However I would highly recommend you switch your engine oil over to a full synthetic. Be it Amsoil or Mobil 1. I use the cetane improver but can't specifically say it will help in your case as I have a heated garage and if I do leave it isn't for too long a period. Let me know if you want to buy any Amsoil products and I can send ya a price.

------I ran a petroleum testing lab for years.
We often did additive surveys. Very few of them worked and the ones that did, offered very little as for improvement.
