Butcher Block Oil. Can get it at any lumberyard or wood crafters store.

I use corn oil.Mineral oil is refined petroleum.

Food grade mineral oil. Get it at a restaurant supply store.

Generally to treat a cutting board you take parfin wax and mely it to a liquid state then quickly brush it on and let it soak into the wood. when it cools you can remove any extra material and "Presto" it is ready for more years of use!

I use mineral oil too. It is approved for internal use so I assume it is probably relatively safe.
