Tires and rims

need a tractor for row crop, and found a CIH 3594 but they almost all have 20.8's. Maybe a dumn question, but wandering if anyone could tell me if 18.4's would fit on those rims.

20.8s will fit down 30 in. rows I cultivate and do all my spraying with my 5288 and it has 20.8-38. Someday if the tires wear out I may switch to 18.4-42, but don't let the tire size turn you away if the tractor fits your operation and budget.

Found a 3594, but neighbor told us front wheels won"t go in far enough, so we will have to space them out, if that"s the tractor we go with. Doing some custom NH3 application.

Thanks for the info guys. My brother and I are basically starting a farm from scratch, and need all the help we can get. Anybody know a good place to find spacers to set the front wheels out wide.

Sorry yeah its mfd. Were their more guys on 36"s than 30"s in the mid eighties, or did they just not build those tractors for row crop?

On a 3594 when you change the size on the rear tires you have to change the front tires also in order to maintain the correct ratio between them. MFWD tractors are built with the front axle running slightly faster than the rear. Also I have a set of row-crop spacers for a 3594 front axle to put it on 120" centers. Dale

I hadn't thought about the ratio between the tires. Thinking about making up a driveshaft for the front axle with a quick coupler and a stub shaft on a bearing so we can disconnect it for road travel, and hook it on the stationary shaft to help reduce tire wear.
