ordering auto parts on line

With the discount codes and free shipping, this is the best place I could find on line to order auto parts. Also ordered some tractor filters but had to do that by phone. The order taker can not cross filter numbers at his computer so he called a store to cross filter numbers.
advance auto discount codes

They are 25 miles away and 30% higher.Example.I needed a brush rigging for a 96 Ford starter. No store had it.One said they could order it 40 bucks.Made a toll free phone call, got it for 16 bucks postage included.Checked on prices for a rebuilt starter, none under 100 bucks, some at 130.New starter on line 80 bucks delivered.Google Rock Auto, they post price comparisons Big price spread. When I did small engine work there was a distributor 25 miles away, show up 5 or 10 minutes early. They wont open the door.Give them info on business, sales tax number.next time you run for parts, no discount .Your not in the computer.State pulled resale tax number for all businesses that grossed under 10 grand. No tax number no discount.Got to an auto parts store 5 minutes early.Parts man showed up, said not open til 8 am wouldnt let me in.Went to another store and spent 90 bucks on exhaust parts. On small engine parts I bought from a co in PA ,Free ship on 100 buck orders.Same parts and catalog as locked door store.Toll free phone number. When I sold stoves the owner would buy me lunch at the diner if it was near lunch time. Those were the days.

You couldn't wait 5 or 10 minutes for them to open? You're THAT impatient? It probably took you 10 to 15 minutes to drive to the next place, which also opened promptly at 8AM.

Local barber got himself in trouble by cutting hair before opening time. First it was 10 minutes early. People got wise and there was a line, so some started showing up 15 minutes early. He let them in, so now everyone shows up 15 minutes early to beat the rush, and a few are now standing outside the door at 20 minutes before opening time. The boss tolerates it, but isn't happy. God forbid it's his day off or he's "on time" for some reason.

There's a reason businesses have business hours. They have paperwork and stocking to do before and after. Just because they're in the store doesn't mean they're prepared to do business.

I find Rock Auto to be overall much better then Advance. Advance (AKA Parts America/Wheels/Checkers/Western Auto) has free shipping once in awhile, but usually their overall prices are a lot higher then Rock Auto. Often a $100 part at NAPA is $90 at Advance and $50-$70 at Rock.

Rock Auto gets parts here to my door-step often in one day via UPS. They amaze me. Parts-prices are often 1/2 of what the local NAPA charges for the same brands and part #s. Also, I pay NO sales tax when I order from Rock.

I'll add their customer-serivce on the telephone is fantastic. Somebody who speaks English and is sitting in the USA always answers the phone.
