Hello everybody, I am looking for any John Deere G made on June 2, 1938. June 2, 1938 is my Grandpa's birthday and i would love to suprise him with one someday. He as always had a love for G's and has always wanted to have a 1938 tractor. Unfortunatly i am in no position to buy one at the moment, but just locating one would be awsome. If anybody has one made on that day and willing to share some info PLEASE email me or post a message. This would mean so much to both him and me

Sorry, but you not going to find a G- built on that date. The production og the G started in late 1938 and only 1000 were built that first year. In "39 they built 7500 or so.

Even, to get one of the 1st G"s built, with the prices some JD"s seem to get you may be talking many many $$$$$$.

It is a nice sentiment you have for your grandfather, do not be discouraged, look for a JD-G as a project for you and him, but do not worry about the specific day/or perhaps year.

Also, I know on no tractor lines where the records are any accurate enough to detail a specific day.
 
In the back of my mind I thought I had heard somewhere that ------ ------ from southern mn had several consecutive serial number G's that are very early production numbers. Like number 3,4,5,and 6 or something like that. He posts on here from time to time, and I think he has an online parts business if you did a search for his name. Don't know about any potential sale, but maybe a little info for you.
 
I am not a JD guy, and went by the serial number data on this site...

1939 7734
1940 9321
1941 10489
1942 12059
1943 12941-12999

Messed up the starting SN... so yes
assuming SN"s started with 1.... 999 made in 1937, and 6734 made in 1938.

Still finding an exact SN will be tough.
