out in the woods cutting up a couple trees that fell, saw three robins. couldnt believe they would be up here so early. n central illinois. about 10 dergrees and snow. whoda thunk it!!! better get some onions sets ready to go in!!

As long as there is food the male robins will hang around. You are seeing birds that never have gone south.

I had around 50 in my yard here in ohio a few days ago, happens every year about this time.

Wife said the yard was full of them on Friday here in central Indiana.Don't know what they are eating with all the snow we have had.

Here in Iowa it was reported last week of 2200 Robins being counted in different parts of Iowa. DNR say not uncommon for some stay around if there are plenty of berries to eat.

Send pictures as you are able - Already seems like a long winter.
Aw, hope it doesn't have anything to do with getting older!

jim, here is a couple pics of em. 2 in the center of one picture, one in the center of the other. they didnt seem very happy. btw, did you see the wow post down on tractor tales, it is the stewart farm just east of my shop. they set a world record combining 51,000 bushels of corn on 10 hours with a lexion. billonthe farm needs one!!!

top picture larger tree just to right of center, one bird just below the fork on the left side, second bird just under him to the left. second pic about center kind of in the open area. did a little chasing to try and get a pic.

I know of one shelterbelt that looks like that near here. Every winter you can drive by there and see hundreds of MALE robins, not a single female.

I grew up in Batavia Il, but now reside in Tennessee. I still remember as a kid, the thrill of seeing a Robin. Man, Spring must be right around the corner!! (or not)
