TL100 New Holland

Anyone know much about these tractors? looking at one, in the low $30K range....is that fair price? Cab, 4wd, loader, 1290 hrs. What different transmissions were availiable for these, owner says it is a 12 spd. Any input appreciated....thanks

I believe this is the least expensive trans. It's a 3speed and 4 speed plus a shuttle F-R

It's not a power shift nor does it have a TA.

They had a 16 speed powershift

I love these tractors.

TL did not have a 16 speed power shift.

They were 12x12 synchro shuttle (3 range x 4 gears)
They were 24x12 synchro shuttle (3 range x 4 gears x hi/lo powershift)
They were (later models) 24x24 power shuttle. The Case IH variant JXU series had a 12x12 powershuttle (no hi/lo powershift)

A 20x12 creep with synchro shuttle was also available.

The 12 speed is fine, nice heavy F/R shuttle on the left hand side and plenty of usable speeds. I've driven the 24x12 plenty and the hi/lo is handy.

Great engines and final drives, Weak MFD axle, cab electrical is fair to poor. light chassis for the hp. Time has proven this series of Fiat-based New Hollands to be undesirable and unreliable for many. I've worked on far more than I'd want to own.

You can learn alot about older tractors, options and prices by looking them up on external_link... There are 40 of them on their listing. Low $30's looks to be about the norm...

495man summed up the transmissions well. For dedicated loader tractors, around 3000 hours on a clutch is what I've seen. Good engines and powertrain, but be careful with the front end. They liked eating bearings when packing too much on the loader. The price is fairly typical for here, not a bargain but not crazy.
