Sold my last load of wood tonight, delivering it tomorrow. Not too bad, sold 4 trailer loads at $150 each, $600 for the new gates I'm going to build cutting wood I had to cut to clear for our new home anyway!

Glad you could sell it, it makes me sick how around here developers come in, clear cut a lot and run the trees threw a chipper. What a waste. Davey tree is one of the worst. I have asked them to leave the logs at a customers property for me for firewood and they have, but the usally chip it up.

I have no idea in the world what is going on with Davey Tree Company these days, but back in the early 50's I attended Elementary School with John Davey III. At that time, the company headquarters was in Kent, OH and the Davey's lived in a mansion in Twin Lakes, OH.

John and I were buddies. He spent time at my run-down, farm-hands house and I spent time at his mansion. One of the beauties of kids is that they don't generally feel superior/inferior, they're just kids.

My dad died and my mom moved our family away when I was 10. I never saw John after that.

Ya they are a huge company, very professional. They just have to chip up the wood in there job. I cant see why they dont start a side line business of selling cut split firewood? Or take some of the logs to a mill? I asked one guy from there were do you get rid of the logs? he said anywere we can dump them. Like I said they have left logs at my customers for me for firewood, but they sure do waste alot of wood that could be heat for somebody.
