i just got an old massey ferguson tractor and the only number i can find on it is TE 83973, it is located on a plate above the throttle lever, if anybody can tell me where to get info on this tractor i would appreciate it, going to restore it to use just dont know what model it is!!!!

If I read the book correctly that would be a 1949 TE-20.Hopefully someone will confirm it.Not a 100% sure.

I agree looks like a 1949 Ferguson TE 20.

In 1948 ferguson opened a manufacturing plant in Detroit and built TE 20 and TO 20 tractors there using Continental engines.

In 46 & 47 the tractors were shipped from England.

At tractorhouse there are 2 TE 20 tractors for sale, they should look similar.

thanks, this one has a tag that says standard engine corp....england on it, the best part about this tractor is it was free!!!! im looking forward to restoring it, the other half said oh wow something u will love more than me....lol

I believe TE is for tractors from England with Standard motors engines and TO is for tractors from Detroit with Continental engines. Dave
